So we went in on Tuesday for our doctor's appointment and when he checked me he said he wanted to get an ultrasound to see if Cason is breech. Yup! The little turkey was heads up! I think he turned himself between my 36-37th week. Because he was definitely heads down at my 36 week appointment.
We scheduled an external version for Wed. We went in, and they first did an ultrasound and he was still head up. She was measuring him and we got to see his cute face! He had the chubbiest little cheeks in it, and we watched him suck his thumb and yawn! His cute little hands were up by his face and so were his feet. He was in the Frank position, so his butt was lodged in my pelvis. Also, they measured him and he is at this moment about 7 lbs 12 oz
Anyway, the tech thought the chord was wrapped around his neck, so she had the doctor come in to take a look. Turns out it was around his head, but just draped in front of his face (it looked like he was sucking on it) so we went ahead with the version.
They did a stress test, gave me an IV and a shot of terbutaline(i think thats what its called) to relax my uterus. It took about 1-2 minutes to turn him. The only problem was getting his cute little butt out. So now he is heads down again. Lets just hope he stays that way so no c section for me!! I hope... :P
You can see here under his chin where they thought the chord was wrapped around his neck. The swirly stuff around his mouth is actually umbilical chord too.
My little thumb sucker... so cute!Hes got his Daddy's feet already!
